My incentive to stand for election is to continue to support schools and trusts, post retirement, to improve outcomes for children and young people through collaboration and a clear focus on teaching and learning and leadership. I am able to fully commit to the role.
My career has included 3 headships and senior roles in Local Authorities and two multi academy trusts - the latter as CEO. In the past I have worked with the universities of Derby, Keele and Manchester as an external assessor for NQTs, PGCE's and an associate lecturer in educational management
I have extensive knowledge and experience in governance, corporate and local; having served as a Chair and Director and have worked within the academy paradigm for 10 years.
The initial 5 schools within St Chad's made their journey from inadequate to good through collaboration, sharing good practice and strong leadership; working for the greater good.
I have a clear understanding of strategic leadership, due diligence, financial management and control and school improvement.
