I am passionate about providing the best educational opportunities for all children and recognise that the quality of school provision is key to achieving that aim. The chance to be part of a system that helps to deliver that, is what has prompted me to seek a position on the West Midlands Advisory Board.
I bring a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise, accumulated over 31 years in education, having worked in Dudley, Wolverhampton, and for the last 25 years in Birmingham. In that time, I have held various leadership roles, most of which have been in areas of high deprivation.
In my current role as CEO of Leigh Trust, I have overseen its development since inception in 2014 to its current complement of five schools and can demonstrate successful track record of continuous school improvement, evidenced by member schools and other schools that I have led, moving from Special Measures to Good.
I work collaboratively with other MAT’s, educational organisations and am a Member on another MAT.
My clear vision, which embodies ambition, aspiration and high expectations, I believe, make me ideally qualified to provide the necessary expertise required to support the decisions made by the West Midland’s RSC.
