As an elected member of the current Headteacher Board I see the importance of quality advice based on practical experience and actual knowledge and not just on publications. If re -elected I would bring knowledge and experience to the Advisory Board and continue to make a difference.

Having worked in education in the West Midlands for 45 years one sees many changes but the one constant is the difference a school can make to a child. I have been privileged to work with and for, many amazing people in Birmingham, the Black Country and Warwickshire in some very challenging schools.

Leading schools from special measures to outstanding has only been achieved with the hard work of superb staff and the support of other colleagues. COVID has demonstrated the advantage of collaborating with others both within and outside academies or Trusts.

There is a SCITT (training primary and secondary teachers) within the Trust and an ex Teaching School which is now a lead partner in Manor Teaching School. The role of NLE has given me the opportunity to support others in a more directed manner.
