Jayne Bartlett

I have experience working in a range of schools serving different communities and demographics. My passion lies in social mobility and it would be a privilege to be part of the Regional Advisory Board contributing to the future of the sector. Most recently I have worked to transform Shenley Academy from special measures to good with three outstanding features all achieved in the midst of COVID. My expertise lies within curriculum development, personal development and leadership and management.
I attended a state school myself and with the support of my parents and teachers I was the first in my family to go to university and attended the University of Oxford to complete both my undergraduate and doctorate. I believe strongly in opening minds, opening doors for all and that social context should be no barrier.
I am a published author embracing and partaking in current academic research and this combined with my role as a Headteacher in a practical day-to-day capacity I believe gives me a strong knowledge base to contribute to the committee.
Education is the most powerful tool we have as a society to improve life chances.
