Andrea Arlidge

Having grown up in the South West and worked all my career here, it would be a privilege to represent colleagues across our region, helping to ensure the academy and MAT landscape evolves in a way that supports children and their communities.
I am the founding Chief Executive of Futura Learning Partnership (formerly Wellsway Multi Academy Trust), a post I have held since 2014. Our trust runs primary, secondary and special schools across B&NES, Bristol and South Gloucestershire. My educational experience includes working as a local authority adviser in Somerset, 16 year’s successful headship experience in three secondary schools and setting up and growing a MAT that now has 13 schools and 6000 pupils.
I enjoy making a wider contribution and undertake a number of other professional roles. I am a member of Ofsted’s South West Headteacher Reference Group, a governor of City of Bristol FE College and on the Partnership Board of Five Counties Teaching School Hub Alliance.
I am a passionate advocate of the academy and MAT system and believe my experience to date, particularly of leading a trust that works cross phase, will enable me to make a full contribution to the work of the Advisory Board.
