My motivation to stand for the Advisory Board comes from an increasing desire to help build a better system of education for our children and young people. The current system is fragmented with too many schools left without meaningful collaboration. I believe that ethically driven leaders, in well run Multi Academy Trusts, will help create the coherent, self-improving system that children and young people deserve.

Since 2016 I have been the Executive leader of Crofty MAT, a nine school Multi Academy Trust in West Cornwall. Our shared belief in the power of collaboration brought us together and continues to drive our improvement journey. More recently I successfully completed the National College of Education MBA in Educational Management which has helped me gain a clarity of understanding as to what good practice in a MAT could and should look like.

I am also currently the NAHT SW regional secretary and would love the opportunity to offer the perspective I gain from that role to the Advisory Board. Equally, I feel that the knowledge and experience gained from serving the Board would better equip me to positively influence the evolution of the education system.
