Working as a leader and trustee in both SAT and MAT contexts I feel I am in a strong position to understand the key debates and dimensions within the current educational-provision framework. I have significant insight into the benefits of Academisation, as well as into some of the more difficult to establish advantages of Academisation.
I am currently Chair of the local governing body of a primary school (which is in a MAT) having been a governor there for eight years. I am also a Member on a local secondary school SAT board, having served as a governor there for 10 of the last 13 years. I am an active member and previously Chair of the S7 consortium of Surrey and Sussex Colleges.
When advising and challenging the RSC in their decision making I would draw upon my experience of working with Trustees to achieve academisation and be guided by my understanding of the concerns of staff and governors/trustees working within that change process, in particular considering how any decision may affect the education and wellbeing of young people and the staff within the institutions concerned.
