Throughout over two decades of teaching and leadership, across primary and specialist settings, I’ve believed the key to improving children's life chances is through meaningful collaboration- with staff sharing ideas, reducing workload and learning from each other, creating opportunities for massively positive impact on the children and communities. This is why we started Maritime.

In five years as CEO, I have realised the breadth and depth of opportunities that come with being a trust, making me passionate about not only ensuring we can leverage our structure for the benefit of the children in our schools, but that as a system we can leverage the power and possibilities of trusts to drive forward greater impact system-wide.

The Advisory Board plays a key role in shaping and designing that system. I can offer insight into what works, what doesn’t and help drive thinking outside the box, based on my experience developing a trust that has grown across the region. I believe we always have to think about not just doing the same things better, but doing better things.
