Cath Kitchen

I am the CEO of The Skylark Partnership, a MAT for alternative provisions offering education for pupils with medical and mental health difficulties. I have worked in this sector for 20 years and am passionate about every child having access to a high quality education. The reason I want to be part of the headteacher board is so I can bring a perspective from alternative provision to the board, and support them in making the right decisions for the vulnerable cohorts that we in AP serve.
I am the chair of the National Association for Hospital Education and in this role, I provide advice and guidance to colleagues across the country. I am also a member of the AP Reference Group meeting regularly with the DfE. We provide intelligence from the sector, as well as sharing the benefits of our combined experiences to shape the future of alternative provision. I was the lead in the AP Innovation Fund project using AV1 robots to support pupil transitions and this project won the TES award in 2019. I am also a NLE for hospital education.
I hope to bring this wealth of knowledge and experience to this role if elected.
