Greenfields Primary School and Nursery in Kettering, Northants is part of the David Ross Education Trust (DRET) Multi-Academy Trust (MAT). I have been the Headteacher at the school for six years and journeyed it to an Ofsted rated Outstanding in Jan 2020.
Alongside being a Headteacher, I also hold a Regional Director of Primary post and am jointly responsible for the education of 6000 primary pupils. Since appointment, I have provided training, support, scrutiny and challenge to the DRET Primary Executive Team, primary and secondary Principals, senior leadership teams, and staff and governors. As a result, the trust has improved from 61% schools rated good or better to 96%.
Having demonstrated strong academic success for our pupils at Greenfields, particularly those eligible for Pupil Premium, I am now responsible for and lead DRET’s Trust-wide strategy to support its most disadvantaged pupils. I have also supported schools beyond the Trust to better the outcomes for disadvantaged pupils, as well as supporting trust leaders from other MATs.
As an AB member, I see this as an ideal opportunity, and I am keen to offer my expertise, knowledge and experience in school improvement, to ensure the best education for children in my region.
