Kelvin Simpson

Thank you for considering my nomination.
Over a 30 year career in education I have served 18 years as a Senior Leader in secondary schools, including 8 as a Headteacher at 2 very different schools, 3 years as an Executive Headteacher and a year as CEO of a MAT. As a National Leader of Education I have had the privilege of working with school leaders across the region to provide help and support but also to learn from their considerable expertise.
As a Trust CEO I have actively sought collaborations with a wide range of other MATs, across both the primary and secondary sectors, in County Durham, Northumberland and North Yorkshire, as well as establishing a number of ‘learning partnerships’ with schools in South Tyneside and Sunderland, and a ‘Civic Partnership’ of 10 primary schools driving forward on Research and Development.
The individual child has always been at the centre of my professional values, with a large proportion of my leadership being undertaken within areas of high deprivation. I would strive to ensure that decision making was considered, objective and child focused.
I hope my experience and integrity demonstrate my ability to offer challenge, scrutiny and honesty to the RSC
