My motivation to stand for election is fuelled by my unwavering commitment to achieving an equitable education system which enriches the lives and opportunities of every child in every part of our region.
I bring extensive experience of both trust and school leadership, having successfully led Northern Star Academies Trust for four years as well as previously as a secondary headteacher.
Over 26 years, I have worked across five local authority areas as a teacher, leader, and governor, with experience of education for children and young people aged 2 to 18, in rural and challenging urban areas.
As a National Leader of Education, I believe vehemently in effective collaboration to drive system improvement. I am a champion of evidence-informed education innovation.
Leading an impactful Cohort 2 Teaching School Alliance (Northern Lights TSA), I have established effective partnerships, working with our wider regional family of schools and trusts.
As part of my commitment to system collaboration, I serve as non-executive trustee for a Teesside-based trust.
I am proud of the work our Trust is leading to embrace environmental sustainability. As one of our top strategic priorities, our Green Curriculum Promise focuses on excellence in education for a rapidly changing world.
