Dame Nicola Stephenson DBE

Having worked for over 30 years in education in the North of England I have a firm understanding of the challenges we all face and also the sheer pleasure we receive from serving our communities.

As the Vice Chair of Schools North East I have an in-depth knowledge of the schools in our area and how we can all work together to make every school in the North a success, this is my motivation for applying for this role.

I am also the North East representative on the NAHT National Executive and ensure The North is always considered in national policy for all sectors of our education system.

The skills I can bring to this role are a deep regional knowledge base, a proven track record of school to school improvement, a passion to improve schools so all our children excel in areas of their strengths and a love of all things northern. I am proud of my northern roots and want every child to have a strong sense of belonging.

As a member of the advisory panel I would ensure we stay focused on school improvement and work tirelessly to make the board a success- for all our children.
