Nick Blackburn

I am standing for election because I feel passionate about undertaking a system wide role in helping more trusts to grow and develop across our geographical area, over the next three years. I believe that the sector needs diversity and a wide range of trusts to deliver system excellence.

I would bring to this role a very strong set of personal values coupled with very strong sector experience. I am very outward facing in leadership and have undertaken a wide range of roles across the sector from Peer Support to Quality Assurance of National Leadership Programmes and NPQEL Programme Delivery & Development.

Lingfield Education Trust has become very successful; improvements have been truly transformational for our pupils and schools. We pride ourselves on educating the 'whole child' and our mantra is to ‘gang up on the problem not each other’…

Being a CEO has given me many opportunities over the past decade to learn and reflect. I learn from mistakes and am generous in sharing this learning with leaders.

I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Visiting Fellow at Ambition Institute, Founding Trustee of North East Wellbeing and a member of HMP Independent Monitoring Board.
