Alex Hook

Whilst I have over 20 years of teaching experience, with leadership experience in all aspects of running a very large successful secondary school, I can also now say that this includes managing and leading during a global pandemic. I am acutely aware of the demands that schools and leaders have faced and hope that I could bring a practical, realistic, and achievable viewpoint to lasting school improvement.

The last 18 months have been tumultuous for all schools and now more than ever we need leaders who understand and have first-hand, relevant experience of regional and current pressures, as we reshape education to meet the needs of learners. As we manage the legacy of covid, the commitment to raising standards remains. We need to be able to look forward, be able to anticipate and respond to at times a changing, local, regional, and national picture. I feel I have the skills, knowledge and very importantly the experience to be able to contribute positively to this process.

It would be a privilege to serve in this capacity. I feel confident that I could provide the appropriate advice, support, scrutiny, and challenge. I bring an unwavering commitment to the children of the North.
