Jo Heaton OBE

I would be privileged to serve on the Board, advising/challenging the RSC and supporting the region to develop our sector-led academy system with integrity. I am motivated by collaboration and system generosity and would value the opportunity to help MATs in our region to grow and develop. I understand the challenges currently facing MATs/academies.
I am proud to bring a wide range of experience of working with schools and MATs of all sizes and denomination in my roles across the region as a CEO, NLE, MAT Trustee and Strategic Leader of a Dfe designated Teaching School Hub. As CEO our young people are at the heart of what we do and we hold a strong ethos of collaboration within and beyond our Trust to achieve high standards for all.
I am fortunate to work nationally in the system; Chairing the Dfe Primary Headteacher Reference Group, meeting/challenging Ministers, advising on policy and sharing views of schools, and sitting on the Dfe Expert Advisory Group for Recruitment & Retention. I also work in partnership regionally including as Schools North East Trustee, working with School Forum, Ofsted, Durham Diocese, Tees Valley Combined Authority and sitting on the CST advisory group for CEO responsibilities.
