John McNally

I am the CEO of Share Multi Academy Trust, a partnership of primary and secondary schools based in Kirklees. Prior to this, I held senior leadership team positions in a number of local authorities in Greater Manchester and West Yorkshire. I am very proud of the positive difference we have made to the lives of children and young people in our area, many of whom come from the most deprived backgrounds. I have played a role in this but never forget our success is due to the talent and hard work of our amazing staff. This belief is encapsulated in our mission statement of ‘Valuing People, Supporting Personal Best’.
Trusts have helped raise standards enormously over the last ten years or so and the recent challenges from COVID have demonstrated the positive difference we make to the lives of children, families and communities. The government’s desire to see every school become part of a trust is a great opportunity to build on this success. If elected, I will be a voice for supporting trusts and encouraging trusts to work with each other, to build the best possible education system for our pupils.
