I began teaching in 1984 and have experienced many changes along the way. The journey from an NQT (ECT) in a Bradford Upper School to become a CEO (since 2017) of The Bishop Fraser Trust has been an interesting one!
I feel that as leaders we need to be part of the conversation which will shape the future of our schools/academies and education system. This is why I wish to serve on the Advisory Board, so that I can support and help deliver sound decision making for the schools and academies within our region.
I have been an NLE since 2013 and have run a teaching school alliance since 2012 and I believe in the power of system leadership. I feel that this, along with ten years of headship and a variety of leadership roles in contrasting schools, has helped me develop my experience, resilience, skills and attributes which enable me to apply for this role.
I staunch supporter of the arts in education and became a trustee of The Octagon Theatre in Bolton in 2019. I am also a member of the GMLP, Bolton Learning Alliance, CST and other professional bodies.
