Hello! Firstly, thankyou for taking the time to read my application. I am currently the CEO of Symphony Learning Trust, a primary-based MAT in Leicestershire.
The role of being on the Advisory Board is one which is essential to the continued development of education. Being able to advise on educational decisions, whilst focussing on pupils and supporting colleagues, is vital. If successful, I would provide a realistic, supportive and enthusiastic input on the development of education in the East Midlands and Humberside.
Before becoming CEO, I was a primary Headteacher for thirteen years, having previously taught at schools in Leicestershire. Since 2006, I have been the Headteacher of Glen Hills Primary, Executive Headteacher when I also took charge of Fairfield Primary and the Advisory Head role at Old Mill Primary School (all Leicestershire primaries). In my time at Glen Hills, I worked with colleagues to achieve ‘Outstanding’ status and whilst at Fairfield, saw an emergence from a period of change and standards rapidly improve.
Through my work for Leicestershire and Teaching Schools, I have also led various initiatives of school development at many primary schools. I have also worked as a mentor and deliverer for the National College for NPQH.
