My name is Angela Spencer and I am currently an executive head teacher leading two schools, in extremely socially/economically deprived areas (1 in a Designated Opportunity Area) at the same time as serving as a School Improvement Officer for a Catholic Trust. I am an NLE with a proven track record in school improvement and have led a successful ITT programme that has positively impacted on the coastal area. Building capacity within schools and moving them on in challenging circumstances has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support the RSC effectively in making decisions linked to academisation with children at the heart.
Within my current roles, I have real time knowledge of the issues heads are facing today. I'm in the unique position of being able to see both an executive team perspective but also having live headteacher experience, both of which can be applied in helping to advise the RSC as attuned to the things that are important to Heads in a trust setting as well as the services that are valued and the issues for trusts wishing to grow or expand - or conversely when they are unable to help a school that needs it.
