I believe that the academy system has the power to transform the life chances of young people. I have been privileged enough to lead a Trust which serves some of the most challenging young people in some of the most challenging cities in our region. Inclusion and collaboration, as well as a relentless focus on educational excellence, lie at the heart of our Trust values. I can see the difference that this sector can make to young people day in and day out in the schools I lead and I would like to play a part in delivering this transformational power of education across the entire region.
As a Church of England Trust which serves both faith and community schools, I am well placed to advocate for the difference that a distinctively faith based education can bring to our schools.
As a National Leader of Education I have been able to reach out and support other leaders in this sector and enjoy supportive working relationships with a wide range of Trusts operating in our region. I hope this role would enable me to support the delivery of strategic planning and balance as the academy sector grows.
