Neil Gallagher

‘We are stronger together’ is a phrase I stand by and having been a teacher working in various schools and organisations, I have experienced how academy trusts embody this ethos which helps improve the life chances of our young people and transform education in local areas. I am particularly passionate about the education of our most disadvantaged young people and have always chosen to work in schools serving these communities.

My teaching career spans over 25 years and I am currently the Executive Headteacher of two large secondary schools in Essex, both within the Sigma Trust; Clacton County High School and The Colne Community School. I joined The Colne during a turbulent period which led to a rebrokering. Since then, with the support of the Sigma Trust, the school has transformed and I have witnessed first hand how effective multi-academy trusts can be in delivering first-class educational opportunities for all.

I am motivated to work with other like-minded and experienced colleagues to drive forward the delegated responsibilities entrusted to the Advisory Board and believe I have the skill set to actively contribute to this educational remit.
