Statement

We are the only primary University Training School in the UK. In our short history we have developed a research-informed and research-generating practice. I initiated two new research-practice series of books (Unlocking Research (Routledge) & Educational Visions (CUP forthcoming)) which bridge research and practitioner wisdom. Each innovative book is co-written by teachers and academics. As a keen partner of the Chartered College of Teaching, we also contribute to professional development as a conduit with Cambridge University. We are recognised in the locality as a highly inclusive school, empowered by leaders who have been recognised Nationally.

I am a very creative leader, having completed a PhD in creative learning at Cambridge. I am regularly invited to share the innovative, inclusive and ambitious curriculum design and pedagogy of the school. These professional and learning experiences have developed my eye for detail, awareness of the wider issues, and analytical and communication skills. I am able to articulate complex matters in meaningful ways for various communities and stakeholders.

As a member of the AB, I will be able to offer a unique and relevant perspective about research-informed practice. I can also challenge and suggest new ways to support better, more inspired decision making.
