Statement

Everything we aim to do within the Learning in Harmony Trust is about making a positive difference to society; I believe that election to the board will enable me to continue that same ambition. As a serving head teacher in a Multi Academy Trust, I am passionate about the difference that meaningful partnership and collaboration can make to school improvement and ultimately, outcomes for learners. I became head teacher at Blenheim Primary School in 2012, and our school joined Learning in Harmony in 2016 as a converter academy; Blenheim was graded outstanding under the new framework in 2020. Over time, I have taken on a more executive role, involving leadership in other schools and trust-wide leadership of key areas, such as safeguarding and curriculum. My other professional roles include being chair of the Southend Primary Heads’ Association and Southend’s NAHT Branch Secretary. My strengths as a leader are in school improvement, professional development and coaching, and I still enjoy the opportunity to teach whenever I can. I believe in the importance of system leadership, and will endeavour to use my skills, energy and enthusiasm to represent colleagues to the best of my ability.
