Welcome to the Vegan Society 2021 AGM

Dear Vegan Society Member

This is your opportunity to influence the direction of The Vegan Society. As a full member of The Vegan Society, you are entitled to vote on the election of trustees to The Vegan Society’s Council and on motions put to the Annual General Meeting (AGM). To take your views into account, we need your votes.

You can only vote on candidates for Council in advance of the AGM but you can vote on motions either in advance by proxy or at the AGM in person. Please take the time to consider the candidates and motions carefully to help shape the future of the society.

In order to reduce the risk to members and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance at this year's AGM on Saturday, 22 May at 1.00pm will be entirely online via Zoom.

We are sorry not to be able to hold a physical AGM this year but we hope that members will embrace the opportunity that an online AGM offers to those members who have been prevented from attending the AGM in the past – whether because they were unable to travel or because the time or cost commitment of attendance was prohibitive.

Information to help you to cast your vote
There are various documents to help you to cast your vote, including information on the candidates standing for election as trustees, and supporting arguments and counterarguments for the motions to the AGM.

Information on the society’s activities over the year can be found in the Annual Review with more detailed information and financial details in the 2020 Annual Report and Accounts.

We know that this has been a very difficult time for many people, and the society’s trustees and staff have been encouraged by the loyal support of its members. At a time when many charities are struggling, it has been rewarding to see the continued support of our members. Our members are what make us a society and we are grateful to you all.
