The nomination form

If you choose to apply, you’ll need to complete your nomination form and arrange for two fellow members to support your nomination before 5pm on Tuesday 9 August 2022.

If you’re no longer in touch with other members of the Fund, you may be able to reconnect through social groups set up by members of the Fund whose contact details are in the Fund member magazine, Pensionwide at pensionwide.nationwidepensionfund.co.uk/pensioner-group-contacts

To register, you’ll need to provide your name, email address, and a password. You’ll then receive an email from the Trustee election services provider, UK Engage, to confirm your email address is valid, by clicking on the ‘Confirm’ button in the email.

Once you’re registered, you’ll be able to complete the form with your personal and contact details. To help you prepare, the questions on the online nomination form are listed below:

  • Current position (if no longer with Nationwide)

  • Do you have any relevant experience (or qualifications)?

  • Do you have any previous experience of being a pension scheme trustee? If so, please provide details

  • Please provide examples of how you have worked effectively as part of a diverse team

  • How could your skills add value to this role?

  • How much time do you envisage the role as a Trustee taking and how would you fit this in with your existing commitments?

  • Why do you wish to stand as a Trustee?

  • What would you like to say to the panel about your skills and competencies to support your application? (up to 150 words)

  • What would you say to the Fund members to persuade them that you would make a valuable addition to the Trustees? (up to 300 words – if you’re included in the ballot, this will appear on the ballot paper as your candidate statement)

There’s also information about how your data will be used and a declaration to complete.

After nominations close, completed applications will be reviewed by the Trustee panel to decide which nominees will be invited for interview in the Autumn and, subsequently, who should go through to the ballot which opens on Wednesday 16 November 2022.
