Amber LANNON (Canada)
My 20 year career as a Librarian has been mainly in academic libraries across Canada (Vancouver-Montreal-Ottawa); however, I have also worked in public and special libraries which has given me a broad perspective that would allow me to represent the interests of a diverse range of colleagues. Through conferences (attending and presenting), service (various roles), and publishing I have developed a large network of Librarians throughout Canada and the United States. Conferences and meetings I attend include the American Library Association (ALA) , the Academic Business Library Directors (ABLD), the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) and the Ontario Library Association (OLA). In 2019 I attended my first IFLA meeting where I presented in the Buildings and Equipment Section program. Since that time I have been looking for an opportunity to contribute to IFLA and I feel strongly that my background and and experience in library policies and advocacy would allow me to make an immediate contribution in this role.
